Guldborgsund – Pipeline Crossing under Railway

Guldborgsund Varme A/S prepared a preliminary design for the construction of a new district heating connection underneath the railway corridor. The new pipeline replaces an existing district heating line that was previously routed over Højbroen bridge, which was dismantled in winter 2014/15 due to the electrification of the railway between Ringsted and Rødbyhavn.

The pipeline installation consists of two DN323 district heating pipes and two DN40 empty conduits. The route runs from Højbrogade, through a booster station, across a parking area to Brovejen, beneath the railway terrain, into the old sugar factory site, and on to Østerbrogade.

Norsyn acted as consultant for Brøndum under a design-build (turnkey) contract. The consultancy scope was later expanded to include assistance in securing the official railway crossing permit.
