Osby, Vilev & Vorsby – Thermonet

The project involves the installation of three complete thermonet systems, each serving a residential cluster of approximately 30 dwellings. A total of about 100 homes are supplied across the three systems. Each cluster has a shared central energy unit housing two large heat pumps, buffer tanks, and domestic hot water storage, which distributes heat to the individual apartments via a central heating system.

The thermonet system extracts energy from the ground through a combination of vertical ground loops and a horizontal pipe network connecting the loops to the central heating unit. In addition, energy is also harvested from rainwater via ground loops installed in the LID (Low Impact Development) drainage system used to manage stormwater on-site.

Norsyn Energy Solutions’ Role

Norsyn Energy Solutions is the complete system supplier and has handled permitting, design, engineering, and construction of both the thermonet and the central heating units. Norsyn Energy Solutions is also responsible for ongoing operation and maintenance of the system.

The system is designed with careful balance between local energy uptake and load requirements, and with hydraulic stability in mind – ensuring a robust and energy-efficient setup. Since Norsyn Energy Solutions is also responsible for long-term operation, the system has been designed for reliable serviceability, maintainability, and built-in redundancy in case of component failure.
